Cie'th

Cie'th (first part pronounced 'see'; whole thing rhymes with 'teeth')

What is it?:
Cie'th used to be people, and one can tell that just by looking at it. Think of Cie'th as gigantic embodiments of a person's despair. All of the pain, regret, anguish, hate, and misery of a person. At the moment of transformation, a person is overwhelmed by all of these horrible emotions, and they are doomed to spend the rest of eternity feeling absolutely nothing but this. They can't think, they can't hope, they can't reason. They aren't even aware of themselves. Really, what they're doing is wandering around and lashing out violently at anything around them.

Description:
This thing is pretty big, about 8 ft. tall. Their bodies are made of a hardened crystal material which is more like stone. Striking it sounds like hitting thick glass. The center red area emits a dull, pulsating red light which can be seen in the dark. If one looks closely, the Cie'th actually has the bottom half of a human face sticking out, like there's someone trapped within that crystal body. This face will be twisted in an expression of pain all the time. People are free to note it, but the face cannot be recognized in any way.

The sounds it makes are monstrous but can be considered vaguely human. They sound like groans of pain and despair, pouring out in a voice that is demonically deep. Nothing about the monster's behavior itself indicates it is in any kind of pain, but every noise it makes oozes suffering. The voice is also not recognizable.

As it walks, it makes sounds like it's shuffling and dragging its feet, and one can hear how heavy it likely is. It is not stealthy and is incapable of sneaking up on anyone.

Strengths:
As stated before, these things are made of a hard material. Thus, attacking it physically is not going to work. No one in the institute will be able to kill this thing with metal pipes and broomsticks. Swords and blades won't do much against it either. Bullets will be more like little punches rather than real damage, and they have a chance of ricocheting depending on where one is aiming (don't aim for the arms, people!). A shotgun or greater would be like a really HARD punch: not nearly enough to hurt it, but it might be pushed back and stumble a step.

The strongest areas of this thing are its arms, most especially the gigantic left one, which is like multilayer armor. Nothing done to that arm will even be felt. That's its invincible area. Attacking the other arm will also essentially not be felt. In other words, attacking it from the sides will not be effective.

The physical attacks it executes with these arms are devastating and should not be underestimated.

Weaknesses:
These things are really slow. They walk as if they're wandering and lost, and they actually limp. Even when they "rush" at someone, it's just more like a slightly faster limp. Unless someone is trapped in a dead end or else not paying attention, it's fairly easy to dodge their attacks and even easier to escape completely. Also, these things are DUMB. They're incapable of reason or strategy. That can be used against it. At the same time, canonmates and significant CR will have no effect on him due to this.

Though physical attacks will do little to nothing to it, magic is extremely effective. Most especially, elemental magic. When I say magic, it must be some kind of ability that extends forth and is executed in a way that is not physical. Super strength and magical weaponry don't count. Emblazoning a sword with elemental powers will count for damage though. To count as "magic," it should be some kind of power that is expelled in a purposely offensive manner. This can count for abilities that are not really "magic" per se (as in there's some kind of scientific explanation) so long as they fulfill this prerequisite. This depends. If someone's got something weird and they're not sure if it counts or not, feel free to ask me.

Also regarding this, if something is elemental but not "magic," it can still count. Players can be creative with this and as an ooc reward, if one is able to think of a way to execute this, the attack will be granted extra damage.

The arms are basically invincible. The body itself is slightly less so, though this isn't so much a weak spot as it is a weaker spot. The main body preserves the same basic defense against physical attacks as listed in the Strengths, but the difference here is if someone's desperate and punches it in the main body, they won't break their hand like they might with the arms.

Ways it attacks:
--Smacking people with its right arm. The arm is slow to wind back and mostly uses gravity to slam down on its target. Again, this is simple enough to avoid as long as one is paying attention and has functioning limbs. However, if one does get hit by this, it is the equivalent of having a large cement block on a pendulum slam into you full force. It will really hurt.

--Wail. Exactly what it sounds like. As a way of trying to slow down prey, this thing is capable of letting out a loud, ear-splitting scream. This sound is like something one would hear out of the bowels of hell. It sounds like a person screaming out in pain and terror, high-pitched and loud enough to shake your diaphragm. The purpose of the scream is to daze its prey, making people briefly disoriented and vulnerable. Players are free to interpret this disorientation in a variety of ways: becoming dizzy, being suddenly overcome with irrational terror, temporary paralysis, loss of concentration, spinning head and blurred vision, or an overwhelming bout of gut-twisting nausea.

These effects hit characters hard and fast, but do not last long. It should only last a few moments before ebbing away.

How to Take Him Down:
I've devised a health points system for him, where certain attacks are worth more damage than others. How much it's worth is dependent on how strong the individual's magical spell is described in the character's app (if it's up for public viewing) and/or the post itself. For example, if it's deliberately described as being a weak spell (as it is on Snow's profile) then it will count for lesser point damage. As a way of rewarding creativity, non-magical elemental damage are worth more points.

I'll be keeping score of his HP over the course of the night and he will die once he's sustained a certain amount of damage. So if you're dead set on trying to kill him, you keep attacking him, but he's not going down, don't fret! I'm keeping score, not godmodding. I assure you, he will go down after the proper amount of damage. Which I am deliberately not specifying to keep it a surprise.

Hints
--He's pretty resilient. In all likelihood, it will be impossible for any character to kill him by themselves. Gather up your buddies and use the power of ~friendship~, or else this may not go too well.

--Physical attacks don't count for damage. At all. So if you're trying to kill him with swords, bats, guns, etc., this is a heads up that that will not work.

--Everything's up there in the Strengths and Weaknesses. People oocly looking to take him down should look over that to figure out their methods of attack.
